清華大學支持跨領域研究，提供師生各式研究中心及多元化場域進行跨領域研究。 清華大學於2018年啟用清華實驗室，整合校內零星共用實驗室，成立跨領域研究中心。目前已有奈微與材料科技中心、物理系、醫工所、腦科中心、生醫中心等相關領域產學研單位進駐，提供研究團隊所需的空間、共用設備及行政支援人力，未來透過跨領域研究激盪更多的研發能量與新創事業，朝向世界一流大學的目標邁進。清華大學自2011年起與HIWIN集團共同成立「HIWIN-國立清華大學聯合研發中心」，藉此平台推動跨領域應用研究，開發創新領先的關鍵技術。 清華大學為學生跨領域科學研究團隊提供專門設施。例如，參與清大創業車庫（NTHU Garage）的團隊在教育館擁有自己的專屬空間（Maker Space）。創業車庫成立的目的在於希望學生透過跨領域的合作，孕育新創事業。

NTHU actively supports interdisciplinary research by providing faculty and students with various research centers and diverse physical facilities. In 2018, NTHU established the NTHU Laboratory, integrating previously scattered shared laboratories on campus into a centralized interdisciplinary research hub. Currently, several industry-academia-research units, including the Center for Nanotechnology, Materials Science, and Microsystems, the Department of Physics, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, the Brain Research Center, and the Biomedical Science and Engineering Center, have settled in this facility. The laboratory provides research teams with space, equipment, and administrative support. Through interdisciplinary research, NTHU aims to foster greater innovation and entrepreneurship, striving towards becoming a world-class university. Since 2011, NTHU has collaborated with HIWIN Technologies Corporation to establish the HIWIN-NTHU Joint R&D Center, serving as a platform to promote interdisciplinary applied research and drives the development of innovative and leading-edge key technologies. NTHU also offers dedicated facilities for student interdisciplinary science research teams. For example, teams participating in the NTHU Garage have their own designated Maker Space in the Education Building. NTHU Garage was founded with the vision of encouraging students to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering the development of innovative startups.
